No. 3 Valley Christian 9, Palma 3
Valley Christian, playing at home in San Jose, stretched its winning streak to four games on Tuesday with a nonleague victory over Palma.
The Warriors built an 8-0 lead through five innings on their way to winning for the 14th time in 16 games this season.
Jordan Ortiz knocked in three runs and Nathan Choi drove in two to help lead the way. Valley also got five scoreless innings on the mound from ace Quinten Marsh.
Johnny Carnazzo had two hits and an RBI for Palma (5-6).
Valley will play host to Hollister on Friday before returning to West Catholic Athletic League action with a two-game series next week against Serra.
Piedmont 2, Alameda 0
John Olsen pitched a one-hitter on Tuesday to lead Piedmont to a narrow victory at home over Alameda in West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division play.
Markos Lagios provided all the offensive support that Olsen needed, hitting a home run in the first inning.
The junior finished with three hits and scored both of Piedmont’s runs.
Olsen, handed a two-run advantage after three innings, struck out five and walked three. He threw 82 pitches, 57 for strikes.
Piedmont improved to 10-2, 2-0.
Kayden Thai had the only hit for Alameda, which fell to 6-5, 1-1.
No. 17 Woodside 9, Half Moon Bay 4
Cruz Torres homered and drove in three runs and Evan Chad homered with two RBIs to power Woodside to a victory at home over Half Moon Bay in Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division play.
Ryan Dodge added two hits, including a double, and knocked in two runs as Woodside upped its record to 12-1-1, 5-0.
Cody DeBeer homered, doubled and had two RBIs for HMB, which slipped to 6-9, 2-5.
Monte Vista 8, No. 9 James Logan 4
Monte Vista erupted for six runs in the home half of the sixth inning to turn back James Logan at the Sacred Heart Prep tournament.
The Colts had scored three in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead before Monte Vista rallied.
Brad Ballard went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Brandon Clizbe went 2 for 2, scored twice, doubled and knocked in a run to lead Monte Vista.
Tony Keeling added a double and two RBIs as the Mustangs improved to 7-6.
They will play Palo Alto on Wednesday.
Logan, which began the week 9-1, lost for the second day in a row to fall to 9-3. Palo Alto beat the Colts 1-0 on Monday.
No. 10 Sacred Heart Cathedral 10, Wood-Vacaville 0 (6 innings)
A 10-day layoff didn’t cool down SHC as Tate Medicoff hit a three-run homer to power the Fightin’ Irish to a victory over Wood in the first round of the South San Francisco tournament.
SHC hadn’t played since edging archrival St. Ignatius 1-0 in the Bruce-Mahoney game at Oracle Park on March 23.
Joey Valencia had two hits, knocked in a run and scored a run and Zach Stallworth pitched a complete game with six strikeouts as SHC improved to 9-5.
Wood is 4-10.
No. 11 Pittsburg 6, Freedom 0
Pittsburg opened its Bay Valley Athletic League schedule with a victory on the road over Freedom as Diego Deluna pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and Cole Leschak had two hits and two RBIs.
Pittsburg improved to 11-3, 1-0. Freedom is 8-6, 2-1.
No. 13 Leigh 5, Christopher 4
Leigh, playing at home in San Jose, built a 5-2 lead after three innings and held off Christopher’s comeback bid to remain alone atop the Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division standings.
Justin Jeong had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run for Leigh, which improved to 9-4, 6-1.
Christopher is 8-4, 4-3.
Dougherty Valley 6, El Cerrito 4
Dougherty Valley, which last week upset Bay Area powerhouse De La Salle, made it two wins in two games at the Alhambra tournament as the Wildcats followed their 1-0 victory over Rodriguez-Fairfield on Monday with a win over El Cerrito.
Gavin Huffmaster had two hits and drove in two runs and Jayden Rouse scored twice and had an RBI to lead Dougherty Valley.
The Wildcats improved to 6-9. El Cerrito is 6-2.
Liberty 4, South-Torrance 2
Liberty 8, Oxnard 4
Liberty won two more games at the Atascadero tournament, getting three hits, including a home run, from Rane Miller to beat South and two hits and two RBIs from David Roberts to help defeat Oxnard.
The Lions opened the tournament with a 7-6 victory over Damonte Ranch-Reno on Monday.
The three wins improved Liberty’s record to 7-8.
Liberty is scheduled to play Channel Islands-Oxnard on Wednesday.
Softball
No. 4 Livermore 11, Kimball-Tracy 0
Jae Cosgriff hit two home runs and drove in six runs as Livermore breezed to a nonleague victory at home over Kimball.
Cosgriff finished 3 for 4, Sophia Gerochi added two hits, including a triple, and Kerigan Coates and Payten Williams each homered and knocked in two runs as Livermore improved to 10-1.
Savanna Froke and Kaci Norton combined on the shutout. They scattered three hits and four walks.
Kimball is 5-5.
No. 3 Alameda 6, Encinal 1
Julia Lambert hit two doubles and scored a run, Aaliyah Soderlund finished with three hits and an RBI and Mia Wong added two hits and an RBI to lead Alameda to a nonleague triumph over crosstown rival Encinal.

Sherrielyn Ferre had two hits for Encinal (12-3).
Lincoln-San Jose 7, Prospect 5
Amaya Hernandez had three hits, knocked in two runs and scored twice and Olivia Diaz finished with two hits and two RBIs to lead Lincoln to a victory on the road over Prospect in a BVAL Santa Teresa Division game.
Lincoln led 7-3 after six innings and then held off Prospect’s late rally.
Dani Rauscher had three hits and scored three runs for Prospect, which fell to 0-9, 0-4.
Lincoln is 9-2, 6-0.
No. 14 Branham 14, Westmont 0 (6 innings)
Alexis Bojorquez-Nava had three hits, including a home run, and drove in five and Jacqueline Connolly Hojas finished with two hits and four RBIs as Branham cruised to a mercy-rule victory on the road over Westmont in BVAL Mt. Hamilton play.
Branham is 10-6, 3-2. Westmont dropped to 1-11, 0-5.
