Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Kensington Abrew, Dublin

Dublin softball player Kensington Abrew is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for April 1-6.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Abrew finished with 37.02% of the votes. Los Gatos softball player Ava Norquist was second at 29.99%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Abrew, a junior, gave Dublin a 1-0 walk-off victory over Gregori-Modesto when she hit the first home run of her career in the bottom of the seventh inning. The catcher ended the week with a .417 batting average on the season.
