Amador Valley baseball player Matthew Foley is the Bay Area News Group’s boys athlete of the week for April 8-13.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Foley had 41.46% of the votes. Foothill lacrosse player AJ Becker took second at 18.03%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Foley helped Amador Valley hand then-No. 1 Granada its first loss of the season, pitching a complete game with five strikeouts in the Dons’ 5-2 victory.
He also had a hit and scored a run in the game.
