OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in East Oakland, authorities said.
Police did not immediately release any information about the man killed.
The shooting happened about 12:48 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of 99th Avenue. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.
Police have not announced any arrests or released any suspect information.
The killing is the 23rd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 27 homicides in the city.
