Forgery: Between Feb. 20 and March 25, someone stole a check from a Saratoga resident’s mailbox, changed the amount and cashed the check for a total loss of $952.03.
Petty theft: Between 10:52 p.m. on March 31 and 11:10 a.m. on April 1, someone stole an electric scooter from a driveway in the 14700 block of Montalvo Road for a total loss of $600.
Burglary: Between 10 p.m. on April 6 and 10 a.m. on April 7, someone cut the lock to enter an empty storage unit in the 20000 block of Fourth Street for a total loss of $20.
Theft by false pretenses: Between Jan. 26 and April 8, someone contacted a Saratoga resident via a fake social media profile claiming to be a family friend. The suspect persuaded the victim to send funds electronically, for a total loss of $14,000.
April 11
Residential burglary: Between 8 p.m. on April 10 and 5 a.m. on April 11, someone entered a garage in the 12000 block of Miller Avenue through an open garage door and stole sporting equipment items for a total loss of $2,000.
Possession of burglary tools, unlicensed driver: At 2:25 a.m., deputies stopped a motorist at Crestbrook and Braemar drives for traffic violations. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located four black masks, a pair of black gloves, a glass-breaking tool and a flashlight. Three suspects were cited and released.
April 14
Vehicle burglary, tampering with a vehicle, vandalism: Between 2 p.m. on April 12 and 8:52 a.m. on April 14, someone broke through the windows of six vehicles parked at the Fellowship Plaza Apartment Complex on Fruitvale Avenue and stole various clothing and miscellaneous items for a total loss of approximately $125.
