CONCORD — A middle school-aged girl escaped without physical injuries Wednesday after a man grabbed her arm while also trying to open the door to a parked car, police said.

The girl fought off the man, and notified school staff and police, according to a statement from Concord police. Police held off on calling the incident an attempted kidnapping, instead calling it a “suspicious circumstance.”
The encounter happened in the area of Nuala Street and Dartmouth Way about 7:10 a.m., police said.
Police continue to look for a suspect. They did not have a detailed description of him but said the car associated with the incident was a black sedan.
Investigators also are looking at surveillance video and talking with people in the neighborhood.
