The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is expanding into the East Bay, with a franchise location now open in Danville and another coming soon to San Ramon.
Franchise owner and Livermore resident Amar Thummeti is leading the expansion. He owns an information technology consulting firm and is relatively new to the restaurant business. A self-proclaimed foodie, Thummeti says he was excited to open a restaurant, but wanted the support of a franchise as he entered the industry.
After researching possible restaurant and food franchises, he was drawn to the Great Greek Mediterranean Grill for its vegetarian options and award-winning menu, he says.

Dishes on offer at the fast-casual restaurant include Mediterranean favorites like the gyro plate ($17.95), a mezze plate ($15.95) featuring dolmades, falafel, spanakopita and hummus, and baklava ($5.95) — but also American fusion dishes like feta fries ($6.95) and baklava ice cream ($6.95).

“We’re pleased to offer these fresh, flavorful meals to the community,” Thummeti says.
