A man was shot near Highway 280 and McLaughlin Avenue on Thursday evening, according a social media post by the San Jose Police Department.

The call to police was placed at 5:46 p.m. and officers went to the scene to investigate. The adult male victim was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, according to the post. He was later stabilized but remained in critical condition, according to a later SJPD social media post.
The offramp off Highway 280 to McLaughlin Avenue was blocked Thursday evening as authorities investigated the shooting.
