Bay FC loses to league-leading Orlando for fifth straight defeat

Bay FC dropped its fifth straight game in a 1-0 loss to the Orlando Pride on Saturday night, the first shutout loss in team history.

The match’s only goal was a 32nd-minute penalty kick from Pride forward Adriana, who deposited the ball in the left corner behind Bay keeper Katelyn Rowland.

Bay FC registered just two shots on net, compared to 10 for the Pride. Rowland made a career-high nine saves in defeat.

Barbra Banda drew the penalty by cutting into the box from the left side midway through the first half. Deyna Castellanos attempted a slide tackle and fouled Banda.

Despite another loss, Bay FC coach Alberto Montoya was positive about his team’s response after halftime.
