Stanford-SJSU set for national broadcast on Black Friday as Cardinal, Cal unveil kickoff details

Cal and Stanford, two new members of the Atlantic Coast Conference, unveiled a handful of kickoff times and television designations Thursday ahead of the 2024 football season.

Stanford will end its regular season on the road at San Jose State on Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. PT on CBS, the first Bill Walsh Legacy Game since 2013. It will be the second consecutive year that San Jose State has an afternoon game on CBS after the Spartans lost to Oregon State in their home opener last season.

The Golden Bears shared kickoff information for four games while the Cardinal, which had already had two kickoff times announced, revealed the start times of three.

Cal will open the season against UC Davis in Berkeley at 2 p.m. PT on ACC Network Extra. From there, Cal will play two consecutive games on ESPN networks — at Auburn on Sept. 7 at 12:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2, then at home against San Diego State on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.

The program’s lone Friday night game will be Nov. 8 at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem (5 p.m. PT, ACC Network).

Stanford will open the season with two home games, facing TCU on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN, then Cal Poly on Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. PT on ACC Network Extra (the game against TCU had previously been announced).

Following a bye week, Stanford will play its first-ever ACC game at Syracuse on Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
