LIVERMORE – Crews on Monday evening were battling a nearly 100-acre blaze near the Corral Fire, authorities said.

The Patterson Fire ignited around 4:20 p.m. at Patterson Pass Road and Midway Road, or about 6.5 miles northwest of the Corral Fire, according to the Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit.
As of 6 p.m. Monday, the blaze had consumed 95.5 acres and was 50% contained.
The Corral Fire broke out Saturday afternoon at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Site 300 southwest of Tracy. The fire had consumed 14,168 acres and was 75% contained as of Monday morning, Cal Fire said in an update posted to its website.
Two firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department were injured while battling that blaze. They were in stable condition and recovering, according to a CalFire spokesperson.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
