Pimping, kidnapping reported in Campbell

June 3

VANDALISM: On the Los Gatos Creek Trail. Someone used colored markers and wrote graffiti on the soundwall, railing and a sign leading from South Bascom Avenue to the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

RETAIL THEFT: 9:13 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Bascom Avenue. Two suspects entered the store together and stole approximately $700 worth of items.

UNDER INFLUENCE, IN POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 7:05 p.m. at Budd Avenue and South Winchester Boulevard. A man consented to a search of his person and belongings and was found with methamphetamine, fentanyl and a smoking pipe. He admitted to smoking methamphetamine earlier and was found to be under the combined influence of an opiate and a stimulant.

June 4

BURGLARY: 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Bascom Avenue. Four male suspects attempted to gain entry into a restaurant but were interrupted by a witness. All suspects fled on foot.

PANDERING, PIMPING, FALSE IMPRISONMENT BATTERY: 2:22 a.m. at South Bascom and Apricot avenues. A man and a woman were stopped for vehicle code violations. The man initially denied identifying himself to officers. It was discovered he was on searchable parole. A search of the vehicle revealed an imitation firearm under his passenger seat. A further search of his electronics revealed text messages related to the negotiation and establishing of meetups for the purpose of prostitution and other sexual acts. The man declined to answer questions at that time. The woman confirmed she was being used for the purposes of prostitution and had been driving around all night for appointments. The man had previously pushed the woman and prevented her from leaving their residence.

CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A SWITCHBLADE, MARIJUANA AND AN OPEN CONTAINER: 2:32 p.m. in the 300 block of South Bascom Avenue. Officers responded to a report of multiple juveniles attempting to break down the door of an apartment. The eight juveniles were located in a vehicle attempting to leave the area. A vehicle stop was conducted, and the driver was found to be in possession of a switchblade, marijuana and an open container of alcohol. One passenger was in possession of a firearm not registered to her as a juvenile. Another passenger in possession of an open alcoholic beverage.

UNDER INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 8:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Winchester Boulevard. On 6/4/24, around 0900 hours, Officers contacted a man and found him to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was later found to have three outstanding warrants.

BATTERY: in the 100 block of Superior Drive. A man said his neighbor engaged in a verbal altercation with him, resulting in her spitting in his face through a screen door and punching his air conditioning unit, his window and his screen door. They are both renters and have had ongoing issues. No known property damage at this time.

RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: at East Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way. A man threw a rock through a car. He resisted officers attempting to detain him. A search incident to arrest located methamphetamine.

June 5

BURGLARY: 3:33 a.m. in the 2000 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone smashed the left front window of a 2021 Toyota and a 2016 Lexus.

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA: 9:18 p.m. in the 600 block of Nello Drive. The suspect followed a woman to her home and caused her to be afraid and run away. The suspect had multiple needles in his pockets.

KIDNAPPING, RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER: 6:37 p.m. in the 400 block of West Rincon Avenue. A man repeatedly told the victim he looked like his son and to come home with him. The victim moved away from the man, fearing for his safety. The man continued to pursue him and tried to convince the victim to come with him. The suspect was later contacted at his residence and resisted being taken into custody.

June 6

UNDER INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: in the 400 block of Richlee Drive. The victim reported that a man was trying to open her front door. She said he was asking her to let him in and she was home alone, hysterical while calling 911, and afraid he might enter her home. The man was under the influence of a stimulant and had a warrant for his arrest.

VANDALISM: 3:57 p.m. at West Parr Avenue and Walnut Drive. During a road rage incident, man exited his vehicle and punched the hood of the victim’s vehicle, causing over $450 in damage.

June 7

DUI: 3:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Orchard City Drive. Officers responded to a potential domestic violence call. A woman drove away with man on the hood of car and was pulled over. She displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested for DUI.

UNDER INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA: 10:39 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man was holding a methamphetamine pipe after being reported as acting erratic and taking off his clothes. He was found to be under the influence of a stimulant.

June 8

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: in the 1800 block of Whitwood Lane. A man reported being the victim of domestic violence and was kicked out of his house. He said the suspect pushed and scratched him. He had visible injuries to his chest and arm caused by the suspect.

PETTY THEFT: 4:22 p.m. in the 2000 block of Winchester Boulevard. A $600 black eight-speed mountain bicycle was stolen.

FALSE ID, RESISTING PEACE OFFICER, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 3:37 a.m. in the 600 block of Almarida Drive. Officers responding to a report of an auto burglary in progress saw the suspect walking away from the scene. The suspect resisted briefly and was placed under arrest. She lied about her name to officers and was unable to care for herself in public.

CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A MINOR: in the 600 block of Almarida Drive. A man and two juveniles were contacted after reportedly rummaging through a vehicle. Alcohol was later discovered in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. One juvenile was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was unable to care for herself.

June 9

PETTY THEFT: 12:45 p.m. in the 200 block of East Campbell Avenue. Someone stole food boxes from a business.

DUI: 1:38 a.m. at West Hamilton and Llewellyn avenues. A woman was seen swerving between lanes. A traffic enforcement stop was attempted, and she continued driving for half a mile. Upon contact, she displayed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. She admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. She refused to perform field sobriety tests and declined to provide a breath sample.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, UNLAWFUL PARAPHERNALIA: 10:52 p.m. at South Bascom Avenue and Woodard Road. A driver was reported as possibly being involved in a vehicle collision. The driver was having a medical emergency and was in possession of methamphetamine and a methamphetamines pipe. The driver was cited and transported to the hospital.
