Thieves take beer, iPhones in separate incidents in Campbell

July 23

THREATEN CRIME WITH INTENT TO TERRORIZE: in the 200 block of Catalpa Lane. The suspect was sending the victim text messages threatening her life. The text messages stated that the suspect would murder the victim. The victim said she believed the threats to be credible. The suspect was contacted at their shared residence and admitted to sending the text messages to scare her.

VANDALISM, MAIL THEFT:  in the block of Hollis Avenue. Someone damaged three mailbox banks.

PETTY THEFT: in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A woman was reportedly shoplifting. She was contacted nearby and found to have store merchandise and burglary tools in her possession.

DUI: at West Hamilton and Llewellyn avenues. A man was contacted during a traffic stop and displayed objective signs of alcohol intoxication. He was found to be DUI and taken into custody.

July 24

VANDALISM: in the 100 block of Kennedy Avenue. Someone threw rocks into the interior of a business, breaking a glass entry door and a window.

FRAUD: in the 200 block of Hollis Avenue. Someone forged the victim’s signature on a check stolen from an apartment mailbox.

VANDALISM: in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone came into the shop and a broke glass display case valued at $3,000.

POSSESSION: in the 100 block of Lost Lake Lane. Three suspects were contacted during a call for service, and a man was seen using and being in possession of nitrous oxide.

July 25

PETTY THEFT: in the 100 block of West Campbell Avenue. A man stole beer from a business.

VEHICLE THEFT: in the 1900 block of Cronwell Drive. A U-Haul was stolen sometime overnight from in front of a residence.

VEHICLE THEFT: in the 800 block of South San Tomas Aquino Road. A red 2000 Honda Civic was stolen.

POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man was stopped for a municipal code violation. He was found to be in possession of psilocybin mushrooms and methamphetamine.

FALSE IMPRISONMENT, ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: in the 500 block of West Hacienda Avenue. During an argument, a man struck the victim and strangled her, causing lacerations and bruising on her neck. He also prevented her from leaving the apartment and prevented her from calling 911. He was placed under arrest and booked into jail.

July 26

FIRST DEGREE BURGLARY: in the 100 block of Curtner Avenue. Someone forced entry into a storage facility and stole miscellaneous property.

HIT AND RUN, DUI: South Bascom and East Campbell avenues. A man was contacted after he hit the center divider and rolled his vehicle. He proceeded to drive his vehicle into the Hamilton Plaza, where he was contacted by officers and arrested for DUI.

GRAND THEFT: in the 600 block of East Hamilton Avenue. An employee utilized her role as an event coordinator to fraudulently book an event for her own personal gain.

July 27

BURGLARY: in the 2200 block of South Bascom Avenue. A woman stole two iPhones from a business. She was arrested and booked.

Police arrest man who fled U.S. after deadly 2022 San Jose shooting

DUI: in the 600 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man was driving his vehicle and was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was found to be DUI.

THEFT: in the 1000 block of Fewtrell Drive. A man loaned his vehicle and credit card to the suspect, who refused to return them. The suspect made multiple unauthorized charges to the man’s credit card.

DUI: Hamilton and Meridian avenues. A man displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol. He refused field sobriety tests and was found to be DUI.

July 28

PETTY THEFT: in the 400 block of Calado Avenue. Officers investigating a vehicular burglary found a man who matched security footage searching through the vehicles. He was cited and released. It was later determined that he was in possession of property belong to two victims.

HIT AND RUN, DUI: in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man was reported to be involved in a vehicle collision and attempted to flee the scene, but his vehicle became disabled. He had objective signs of alcohol intoxication, and admitted to consuming beer earlier and driving his vehicle.
