Get ‘Unhinged’ again
The Winchester Mystery House is rolling out a new immersive Halloween experience this fall with Unhinged: Hotel. The backstory for this haunt involves a group of friends who are stranded with car trouble and seek help at a nearby hotel.
Unhinged opens Friday, Sept. 13, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 2. Guests will start their evening on the estate, where they can indulge in themed food and drinks, visit a fortune teller and capture memories at various photo spots. Following a walkthrough of the haunt, guests can experience the return of an outdoor scare zone, The Mists.

WILLOW GLEN>>Abhishek Mynam, is a recent graduate of the University Preparatory Academy in Willow Glen, is one of five Silicon Valley high school students recently selected as Bank of America Student Leaders. The students will participate in an eight-week paid summer internship with a local nonprofit and attend the national Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. to learn how nonprofits, government and businesses collaborate to meet local needs.
Mynam has a passion for coding and for teaching others how to code. He has worked as an artificial intelligence research intern at the University of California, Santa Cruz, since 2023. He also utilized AI to create a mental health chatbot to support students. He is a Boy Scout and serves as vice president for the California chapter of Teens Tutor Teens, where he teaches weekly coding classes.
Since the Student Leaders program began in Silicon Valley in 2006, 98 local students have been selected for the program. Every year, the Student Leaders program recognizes 300 community-focused juniors and seniors from across the U.S.
