The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of 13th Street, near Mandela Parkway, according to the Oakland Police Department. Officers arrived to find a person suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The person received medical aid at the scene and was taken to an area hospital for additional treatment.

“Their medical condition is unknown at this time,” police said in an email around 4 p.m. Monday.

An investigation is underway into the shooting. Police did not announce any arrests.
