Antioch: Fatal shooting is 10th homicide of 2024

ANTIOCH — A 47-year-old man was shot to death early Friday in the city’s latest homicide, police said.

Officers found the man inside a residence on East 8th Street after responding there about 7:25 a.m. for a welfare check, Antioch police Lt. Desmond Bittner said in a statement. They had been alerted by a caller who reported hearing gunshots in the area of E. 8th Street and A Street.

Authorities did not identify him immediately Friday.
