Officers were called to a home in the 7600 block of Rea Street on Aug. 6 for a death investigation involving a woman, the Gilroy Police Department said in a news release.

On Thursday, the Gilroy-Morgan Hill SWAT team served a “high-risk” search warrant at the residence to collect additional evidence and conduct additional follow-up, police said. A man was arrested for an unrelated warrant during the operation.

Police did not release any other details about the case.

“This is an active and ongoing suspicious death investigation, and we are unable to provide additional information at this time,” police said.

The police department is working with the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office to determine the woman’s cause of death.

Anyone with information related to the case can contact Detective Catalina Fraide at 408-846-0335 or catalina.fraide@cityofgilroy.org. Information can be provided anonymously.
