The restaurant will be located at 3257 Lakeshore Ave. a couple blocks from Oakland’s Lake Merritt. It will serve classic American breakfast and lunch dishes with an Asian twist, designed by Jo’s chef Intu-on Kornnawong, who formerly cooked at San Francisco’s one-starred Michelin eatery, Kin Khao.

The Peach will have four dining areas each with its own unique decor, including an outdoor patio.

Details about the menu are still to come. But if it’s anything like the chef’s cooking at Jo’s, the food should be pretty tasty. A Mercury News critic described Jo’s as “brimming with flavor, heat, fresh ingredients and soul. There is so much good stuff here that when you first peruse the menu, you’re already thinking, ‘I’ll just have to come back to try this and that’ — or in our case, to re-order the favorites you now crave, such as the Pork Laab Burger ($15).”

And the Michelin Guide awarded Jo’s a Bib Gourmand, stating that the food has “bold, balanced flavors typical of Thai cuisine, but isn’t overly concerned with hewing to tradition.”
