Oakland: Eastmont Hills shooting leaves one dead

OAKLAND — One person was killed and several others were apparently injured in a shooting Thursday night in Oakland, police said.

San Leandro: Man killed, woman injured in domestic dispute

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 7900 block of Ney Avenue, in the city’s Eastmont Hills neighborhood, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Officers arrived to find a person suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

During an initial investigation, officers learned several people had arrived at area hospitals, according to police. Police did not provide any details about their injuries.
