MARTINEZ — Contra Costa prosecutors have charged a Los Angeles man with 18 felonies, including 14 counts of molesting an East Bay girl he met on social media and allegedly drove to the Bay Area to see in person, court records show.
Kashun Williams, 32, has been charged with 14 counts of child molestation, two counts related to possession of “lewd material” involving a minor and two counts related to him allegedly driving to Northern California to meet the girl. Williams was charged in late June and is being held in lieu of $7.125 million bail, with his next court date set for Oct. 9.
Authorities say Williams has been under investigation since last November, when the alleged victim’s mother told police she found several empty pregnancy test and boxes of Plan B in the girl’s room, as well as evidence she was talking to a man online. The girl was only 13 years old at the time. This newspaper is not listing her city of residence to protect her identity.

Police interviewed the girl’s friends and were able to determine that she and Williams had arranged to meet in October 2023, according to court records. The girl’s quick-thinking mother also contributed to the arrest; authorities say that in October 2023, when her daughter was ostensibly on a “walk” around the neighborhood, the mother noticed a suspicious vehicle near her home and snapped a picture. It turned out to be Williams’ car, authorities say.
Williams pleaded not guilty at a court hearing in July. Authorities say he met the girl on the social media platform Discord and that he was saved as “Daddy” on her phone. The two reportedly exchanged numerous text messages describing various sex acts with each other. Police were also able to use his license plate to track his movements as he drove up north to Contra Costa County, according to court records.
