What is a Palisade? A Palisade is a 3 row midsize SUV built in the Ulsan, Korea assembly plant and sold worldwide by Hyundai. In the very competitive midsize SUV market, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade stands tall among its competitors, such as Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Toyota Grand Highlander and the Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
The 2024 Hyundai Palisade is a great SUV. Not only is it capable and rugged, but it’s also upscale, spacious, and very high tech. Now with 3 rows of seats, the Palisade can fit 7 or 8 passengers on all models. The Hyundai Palisade offers excellent value, contemporary styling and great options at a much more affordable price than the competition.
The 2024 Hyundai Palisade now comes in 6 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy and the all new Calligraphy Night Edition. The Palisade is equipped with a 3.8 liter V6 gas engine with 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, bolted to an 8 speed automatic transmission including paddle shifters, with HTRAC all wheel drive (AWD) optional. Gas mileage is a respectable 19 city MPG, 24 highway MPG, and 21 MPG combined.
Hyundai has integrated plenty of connectivity and convenience items throughout the interior so everyone is plugged in and comfortable. The Limited and Calligraphy models take the SUV experience up to the premium level, with features such as quilted leather seats, fancier trim and second row captain’s chairs; just to name a few of the best one’s.
This week Hyundai sent me a 2024 Hyundai Palisade SUV to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this XRT AWD model is $43,550. The options on the test SUV are: the special paint for $450 and a set of carpeted floor mats for $215. The manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) , including the $1,335 destination charge is: $45,550.
After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your driveway total purchase price came to: $51,244. At just over $51 Grand, you get an upscale, great looking, premium Hyundai SUV that has the ride, handling, and comfort that makes it rise to the top of the midsize SUV class, in style, tech, and price.
Hyundai has added several advanced safety technologies to the Palisade SUV lineup with front and 2nd row side, side curtain and drivers knee airbags, forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision warning, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, parking distance warning in reverse, a multi view rear view camera and an anti-theft immobilizer system.
The comfort and convenience list starts with smart cruise control, highway driving assist, dual automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, a proximity key, push button start, H-Tex seating surfaces, power and heated front seats, 2nd row captains chairs, manual rear side window sun shades, a rear hands free rear lift gate with smart automatic open, an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, and front and 2nd row USB power ports.
The XRT edition upgrades include a set of 20″ XRT exclusive alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lights, auto-dimming and heated side view mirrors, a power tilt and sliding sunroof, a 12.3″ navigation system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a wireless charging pad, and a digital key.
As this is a Hyundai, it comes with America’s best new car warranty that includes: a 5 year / 60,000 mile new vehicle warranty, a 10 year / 100,000 mile power train warranty, a 7 year / unlimited mile anti-perforation warranty, a 5 year / unlimited mile roadside assistance program, and a 3 year / 36,000 mile complimentary maintenance and service schedule that is included on all Hyundai cars and SUV’s for no extra charge.
On average, with proper maintenance and good driving habits, you can expect the 2024 Hyundai Palisade to last between 200,000 to 250,000 miles. Assuming an annual mileage of 15,000 miles, this translates to a lifespan of approximately 13 to 17 years before requiring significant repairs. That is a pretty good deal for an 8 passenger Palisade base SE model SUV, that you can buy for just over $41,200 with sales tax and plates.
So, call, click or visit your local Hyundai dealer for a test drive, and a Bottom Line price review, on the new 2024 Hyundai Palisade XRT Premium 3 Row AWD SUV. And remember that the base price for a new Palisade SUV starts at only $36,650. Hyundai – New Thinking, New Possibilities.
