Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl admitted Tuesday that he cheated on his wife and fathered a child with another woman.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote in an Instagram post. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Grohl, 55, has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003. They have three daughters together: Violet, 18; Harper, 15; and Ophelia, 10.
Grohl was previously married to Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997, and he later admitted that marriage collapsed because of his own infidelity.
Grohl did not reveal the identity of his fourth child’s mother or his baby daughter’s name.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” he added. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Blum, a 48-year-old film director, did not immediately comment on the announcement.

Grohl has largely been on the road since May, when the Foo Fighters launched their “Everything or Nothing at All” tour in Dallas. The tour is scheduled to conclude in Bridgeport, Conn., as part of Soundside Music Festival.
From his days in Nirvana through performing as the Foo Fighters’ lead singer and guitarist, Grohl has developed a reputation as “the nicest man in rock.” However, he has routinely clashed with former bandmate Kurt Cobain’s ex-wife, Courtney Love.
In 2012, Love claimed that she heard rumors about Grohl hitting on her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. She later apologized to her daughter, not Grohl, on social media.
