BRENTWOOD — Contra Costa County prosecutors have charged a woman with assault by force likely to cause great bodily injury after they say she inflicted a cut upon a man with an object at a coffee shop last week, authorities said.

The 33-year-old Antioch resident is alleged to have inflicted a wound upon the man on Sept. 5 at the Peet’s Coffee in the 5400 block of Lone Tree Way, according to court records. The attack happened about noon.
According to authorities, a man was sitting outside the business, when he was attacked. Police said he told them that he initially thought he’d just been punched, then noticed he was bleeding from a deep cut from something sharp.
He was treated for his injuries at a hospital and released. Police did not say where the man was cut.
Prosecutors also charged the woman with two special enhancements for using a dangerous weapon that was likely to cause great bodily injury.
According to jail records, she remained in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility on Thursday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
