ORINDA — A person was fatally shot Thursday afternoon, leading to a stretch of road being blocked by authorities, according to police.
The shooting occurred on a narrow section of Las Vegas Road, in an upscale neighborhood on a slight slope in the Orinda Hills, an area surrounded by one- and two-story homes. The area that police blocked off was around two or three houses long.
Authorities did not immediately release details about the incident or the victim. No arrests were announced and no suspect information was released.
