Arroyo football player Owen Thomason is the boys athlete of the week for Sept. 2-7.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thomason finished with 33.97% of the votes. Christopher football player Evan Vernon was second at 27.95%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Thomason, a senior, rushed for 86 yards and six touchdowns on 14 carries as the Dons took down Washington-Fremont 37-29. Thomason also played a key role at linebacker as Arroyo improved to 2-0 this season.
