Bear Fire in Tahoe National Forest grows to 3,000 acres

The fire ignited around 3:20 p.m. at northbound Highway 101 and Tully Road, the San Jose Fire Department said in a social media post.

No evacuations have been ordered, but businesses in the area were asked to shelter in place. The fire has damaged a utility pole.

Traffic on Tully Road was “heavily impacted” by the blaze, according to the fire department. Motorists were encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
