SAN JOSE – A woman was killed in an alcohol-fueled driving stunt last week in West San Jose, according to authorities.

A man, meanwhile, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release.
The incident happened around 11:55 p.m. Friday at a parking lot in the 14900 block of Camden Avenue.
Hernandez said an initial investigation revealed a man was doing donuts in a white 2006 Ford pickup truck when a woman riding in the front passenger seat fell out and landed on the asphalt.
“The pickup truck then struck the female passenger,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez said the man took the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release her identity after it is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.
The death marked the 37th traffic fatality of the year on city streets. At this time last year, San Jose had recorded 36 roadway deaths.
Hernandez said the driver and two other passengers cooperated with the investigation.
Alcohol was identified as a factor in the collision and the driver was booked into county jail, Hernandez said.
