Two suspects were detained by Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office deputies, according to a statement from sheriff’s office spokesperson Jimmy Lee. The sheriff’s office did not identify them or say whether they’d also been arrested.

The infant and the man both were taken to a hospital with injuries related to the gunfire, Lee said. The infant apparently was grazed by a bullet, he said. He had no information on the man’s condition.

Deputies were called to the 3600 block of Desanie Circle about 5:45 p.m. According to Lee, callers said a street fight between two large groups of people happened, and shots eventually were fired.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information to contact them at 925-313-2600 or 925-646-2441. Anonymous tips can be left at 866-846-3592 or by emailing tips@so.cccounty.us.
