OAKLAND — A 49-year-old man with blunt force trauma injuries to his body was found dead inside his residence Tuesday, and police have begun a homicide investigation, authorities said.

The man’s name was not immediately released pending notification of his family.
He was found deceased about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday inside his home in the 2900 block of School Street in the Upper Peralta Creek area.
An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, but because of the traumatic injuries to the man’s body, police opened up the homicide investigation and are trying to determine where he suffered the injuries and how he got them.
