The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation warnings and orders effective immediately for areas of upper Carmel Valley, saying those who need extra time or with animals should evacuate immediately. Others have been told to be ready to leave if an evacuation order is issued.
As of 6 p.m., Cal Fire has 12 engines, three helicopters, and 130 people working the incident.
