Halloween pet parade set for Saratoga’s Wildwood Park

Saratoga’s fourth annual DogHood Halloween Pet Parade is set for Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m.4 p.m. The event will feature prizes and raffles, and attendees are invited to bring “both two-legged and four-legged friends” to celebrate. The parade will take place in Saratoga’s Wildwood Park, 20764 Fourth St. RSVP to eventbrite.com.

Early voting at library

Residents can stop by the Saratoga Library as early as Saturday, Oct. 26, to vote early in the Nov. 5 general election. The library will remain a voting site from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day until election day on Nov. 5.

Canine Companions honored

The Saratoga City Council recognized the nonprofit Canine Companions, which trains service dogs and provides them to people in need for free, and National Service Dog Month at its Oct. 15 meeting.

The council commended the nonprofit for its efforts to help people with disabilities lead more independent lives.

Teacher earns recognition

Joel Tarbox, an art teacher at Saratoga High School, was due to receive a 2024 special teacher recognition award from the Santa Clara County Office of Education at an Oct. 21 celebration, where fellow Saratoga High teacher Mike Tyler was to be recognized as 2024 Teacher of the Year.
