The satiric sculpture — a comment on the 2021 Capitol riot — appeared on Thursday, Oct. 24, and has a permit to remain through Oct. 30, according to the National Park Service.

A plaque on its base reads: “This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election. President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors.’ This monument stands as testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.”

The 2-foot-tall desk bears the nameplate for former House Speaker Pelosi — and a large swirl of feces crafted in metal.

The imagery refers to a claim by a Jan. 6 defendant named Francis Connor: “I was in the Capitol … And I pooped in pelosis desk … Come lock me up there’s nothing to live for if trump isn’t in office.” He was sentenced to 12 months probation and fines.

The permit for the artwork, “The Resolute Desk,” is in the name of a group called Civic Crafted LLC, according to NBC.
