Three victims who were fatally stabbed, allegedly by a family member, in a Baldwin Park home on Thursday evening were identified by authorities on Saturday, Dec. 28.
They were a woman and two juveniles: Rona Nate, 44; Paul Sebastian Manangan, 16; and a girl, 8, Mia Chantelle Narvaez; the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said.
Baldwin Park Police Department officers responded at 6:48 p.m. Thursday to the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue, between Maine and Phelan avenues, where they found the victims, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Michael Modica.
Each suffered multiple stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to media reports.
A piece of ripped yellow police tape sat on the dirt on Bogart Avenue on Saturday afternoon, left over from the crime scene.
Candles, flowers, and handwritten notes sat at the front gate of the involved family’s home. The gloomy day matched the feeling on the Baldwin Park street. Some neighbors of the family didn’t want to speak. Others said they didn’t really know them.
Alexis Galicia, 28, who lives on a nearby street, said the sound of a helicopter woke him up Thursday. Then he heard screaming. It was around 6 p.m.
“Just a little girl screaming for help,” Galicia said.
