A mandatory evacuation order for the Washington and Lewelling areas has been lifted, San Leandro police said.
The evacuation order was sent out Sunday at around 6:36 a.m. due to a gas leak and covered the residential areas west of Washington. Officers assisted with the evacuation and those in need of shelter were directed to a temporary shelter at the Marina Community Center.
PG&E resolved the issue and the order was lifted at around 9:39 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.
