HAYWARD — BART closed its Hayward station on Tuesday morning, as police investigated an incident at the station.

Few details were available, but BART officials said police detained two people after initial reports indicated there may have been a stabbing somewhere on station property.
Officials said nothing else.
BART closed the station about 10:15 a.m., and trains going in both directions were affected. BART’s orange line from Berryessa/San Jose to Richmond and its green line from Berryessa/San Jose to Daly City both run through the Hayward station.
AC Transit honored BART tickets on lines No. 10 and No. 99 between Hayward and the Bay Fair stations and Hayward and the South Hayward stations.
BART did not have an estimate for when it would re-open the station, saying the investigation continued to be “active” at 10:45 a.m.
