Bay FC’s 2025 schedule release: What are the biggest games for second-year club?

Bay FC will have several chances to impress a national audience in its second season of existence.

The women’s soccer club will play host to defending league champion Orlando Pride on June 13 in a match that will be shown on Prime Video.

The club’s 2025 schedule was revealed on Wednesday, with matches running from March 15 to Nov. 2.

Bay FC’s season opens on the road at Utah Royals. A week later, Bay FC will have its home opener against Racing Louisville before facing off with Washington Spirit.

Washington, led by United States national team star Trinity Rodman, eliminated Bay FC in last season’s NWSL playoffs.

The next week brings more national team star power, when Mallory Swanson’s Chicago Stars FC travel to PayPal Park for a showdown in the South Bay.

Bay Area fans hoping to see hometown hero Naomi Girma during a home game on Aug. 16 will no longer have that opportunity. Her record-breaking move to English powerhouse Chelsea was announced on Wednesday.

The 13 home and 13 road regular season games aren’t the only matches Bay FC will play this season. The regular season will be put on pause from June 23 until Aug. 2, which is when confederation competitions such as the UEFA women’s EURO and Copa America Femenina take place.

NWSL teams can still play against other professional clubs, including international opponents, during this time.

Bay FC will look to build upon a successful first year, one that saw the club go 11-1-14 and make the playoffs as a seventh seed.

The South Bay franchise is expected to return attacking duo Racheal Kundananji and Asisat Oshoala, who combined for 13 goals last season.

The club’s roster is also undergoing changes, with a notable subtraction being the departure of Jen Beattie, who retired after an 18-year pro career. Bay FC also added Cal alum Karlie Lema and former All-American Taylor Huff this offseason
