A man was shot in San Jose on Wednesday afternoon, the San Jose Police Department said on social media.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Farm Drive and Dow Drive, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Authorities have asked people to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Farm Drive from Pearl Avenue to Dow Drive will be closed for a “significant” amount of time, authorities said.
The call was placed around 2:17 p.m., police said.
