SAN LEANDRO — An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death of a woman found deceased Wednesday night at a homeless encampment adjacent to Interstate 238, authorities said.
The woman’s name has not yet been released pending confirmation of her identity and notification of her family.

She was found about 7 p.m. Wednesday at a homeless encampment adjacent to the Hesperian Boulevard/Spring Lake Drive off ramp from Interstate 238, according to the California Highway Patrol, which is the investigating agency.
Authorities have not said if the woman lived at the camp.
The woman was covered or wrapped in some sort of plastic sheet when she was found, but whether the material was placed there by someone else or used by her as some sort of covering is not known, authorities said.
