The 2025 Honda Odyssey Elite Family Minivan

What is an Odyssey? The Odyssey is a minivan built in the Lincoln, Alabama assembly plant and sold in North America by Honda. The 2025 Odyssey Elite Edition is Honda’s top of the line 8 passenger minivan, with luxury features and high end technology. It has a 280 horsepower VTEC 3.5 liter V6 gas engine bolted to a 10 speed automatic transmission, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The Odyssey is front wheel drive (FWD), and comes with intelligent traction management and electric power steering.

Minivans continue to provide practical alternatives to offerings from the SUV world.  Total minivan sales in 2023 accounted for nearly 236,000 units sold, not a huge number, but still high enough to indicate that the segment is still very popular. Today, the only new 2025 model year minivans these days are from: Chrysler, Honda, Kia, and Toyota.

Minivans cost between $33,000 and $39,000; depending on the base model. Prices start with the Kia Carnival at $33,600, the Toyota Sienna at $37,685, the Chrysler Voyager for $37,935 and the Honda Odyssey at $38,805.  Then you need to add in the options, sales tax, shipping and the DMV and dealer fees; which can add thousands of dollars more.

This week, Honda sent me a 2025 Odyssey minivan to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this top of the line Elite Edition is $50,880. The options on the test minivan are: none. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), including the $1,395 destination charge, is: $52,275.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your driveway total purchase price came to: $58,809. At just $191 under $59 Grand, this Honda Elite minivan has every factory option that Honda offers, and is a top of the line choice in the minivan world, and maybe that’s why the Honda Odyssey has been the best selling minivan in America for over a decade, and still selling very well.
