Thief lifts credit cards from victim’s wallet at Saratoga ATM

Feb. 18

Residential burglary: At 8:16 p.m., two suspects entered a residence in the 19000 block of Somerville Court by breaking a rear sliding glass door and stole a safe containing checkbooks and passports for a loss valued at approximately $400.

Feb. 20

Vehicle burglary: Between 5:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., someone broke through a window of a vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Pepper Lane. The vehicle was searched, but nothing was reported stolen.

Under the influence of a controlled substance: At 8:10 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a suspicious person in the 12000 block of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An investigation revealed the suspect was under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect was arrested and booked into main jail.

Feb. 21

Vehicle burglary: Between 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 and noon on Feb. 21, someone broke a window of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 19000 block of Versailles Way. The vehicle was searched, but nothing was reported stolen.
Check fraud: A Saratoga resident reported that someone mailed them a fraudulent check after the victim posted a classic car for sale online. No financial loss was reported.

Theft from a person: At 12:25 p.m., someone approached the victim after the victim used an ATM at Wells Fargo on Big Basin Way. The suspect distracted the victim and managed to steal three credit cards from the victim’s wallet during the interaction. No fraudulent transactions were reported.
