Velocity Irish Dance
St. Patrick’s Day is kicking off early in Campbell with a performance by Velocity Irish Dance featuring David Geaney. The troupe is set to take the Heritage Theatre stage on Friday, March 14.
Velocity Irish Dance bills itself as “the next generation in Irish tap.” Led by five-time World Champion Irish dancer David Geaney and Guinness World Record holder Tyler Schwartz, the dancers perform to live music.
A Dingle native, Geaney won “Kerry’s Got Talent” in 2012 and was named the 2014 Man of the Year by the Irish Dancing Magazine. He and his band made the live semifinals of “Britain’s Got Talent,” and Geaney graduated with honors in Maths and Economics from the University of Limerick.
The show starts at 8 p.m. at the Heritage Theatre, located at the Campbell Community Center at 1 W. Campbell Ave. For tickets, call 408-866-2700 or visit HeritageTheatre.org.
Compassionate chef
Michael Maydeck of Orchard City Kitchen at The Pruneyard in Campbell is one of three celebrity chefs competing in the 14th annual Chefs of Compassion, a fundraiser for West Valley Community Services (WVCS). The chefs will serve dishes at the March 28 event created entirely from ingredients from the WVCS pantry, which normally provides food to the Cupertino-based nonprofit’s clients. A panel of judges will name the winner, and attendees will choose their favorite.
Chefs of Compassion is set for 6 p.m. at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. Tickets are $185 at https://www.chefsofcompassion.org/tickets/2025.
