WALNUT CREEK — Police are looking for witnesses after they said a suspected hit-and-run driver hit and injured a person riding a bike last week.

The person on the bike was under 18 years old and suffered injuries that were deemed minor, police said in a statement. The collision happened Feb. 28 about 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Geary Road and Buena Vista Avenue.
Police said the bicyclist was going east on Geary Road and in the bike lane. The vehicle was making a right turn onto Buena Vista Avenue and last was seen going south on that road.
Police said they are hopeful somebody can put them in touch with a person who saw the collision or the moments leading up to it. They did not have any description of the driver or vehicle.
The bicyclist wore a gray helmet and was knocked off the bike, police said. An ambulance took him to a hospital, where he was treated.
