Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Daniel Weiland, Bishop O’Dowd golf

Bishop O’Dowd golfer Daniel Weiland is the boys athlete of the week for Feb. 24-March 1.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Weiland finished with 30.74% of the votes. St. Patrick-St. Vincent basketball player Ronald Rhymes took second with 28.98%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Weiland shot a tournament low 3-under 67 to take first place at the Cowboys Classic held at The Course at Wente Vineyards in Livermore.
