Award for the books
Los Gatos High School’s 2023-24 yearbook, titled “Meet US,” earned a first-place award from the American Scholastic Press Association.
The high school has been recognized with the same award for its 2021-22 yearbook, and for student coverage of the local fires in 2021.
“School yearbooks are one of the most saved treasures by students,” Superintendent Heath Rocha said in a release. “This recognition is a testament to their hard work in capturing the spirit and stories of our school community.”
Defibrillators at parks
Automated External Defibrillators are now available at Blossom Hill Park and Creekside Sports Park in Los Gatos, after the town accepted a donation of the equipment from the Kyle J. Taylor Foundation last year.
The donation was part of the Los Gatos-based foundation’s broader efforts to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest in youth, after the organization’s namesake died at the age of 18 from the same condition.
