Kim Kardashian limits comments after posing with Musk Cybertruck

Attention-seeking Kim Kardashian clearly doesn’t like the fact that she’s under fire more than usual these days, and not just in regards to her battle to stop ex-husband Kanye West from using their 11-year-old daughter in one of his disturbing publicity stunts.

Kardashian has hidden a flood of negative comments on an Instagram post she shared over the weekend, which showed her glamorously posing with one of Elon Musk’s Tesla Cybertrucks.

For some reason, the reality TV star and shapewear mogul shared the photos days after Donald Trump used the backdrop of the White House to promote Musk’s electric vehicles — and as the billionaire’s company faces national protests because of his work to advance the the president’s MAGA agenda and fire thousands of federal workers.

Over the weekend, the Daily Beast described Kardashian’s Cybertruck photos as one of the “most egregious recent examples of a rich celebrity misreading the room.” The photos, apparently shot several months ago but released over the weekend, specifically show her posing in the back of a Cybertruck, as well as embracing embracing a Tesla robot.

While the Daily Beast said that Kardashian was inundated with negative comments, it appears that most of those comments have been hidden, probably because they were so lacerating.

But the ones that remain include a gif of Christopher Plummer from “The Sound of Music,” tearing up a Nazi flag — no doubt meant to be a protest against Kardashian’s perceived support of fascism. Others wrote: “Supporting Elon at this time is a stupid decision,” “Are you kidding?” and “Are we living on the same planet?”

“Absolute (expletive) show,” said another, while another chimed in: “Imagine needing funding and money so badly that you keep this post up.”

Prior to the comments being hidden, some people also appeared to criticize her for hyping Musk products within a day or so of the South African-born tech mogul sharing a post written by an X user that absolved Adolf Hitler of the Holocaust.

The post falsely claimed that 20th century dictators Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong didn’t cause deaths of millions of people under their rule in Germany, the Soviet Union and China, respectively, the New York Times reported. The post shared by Musk said that public sector workers in those countries were to blame.

Musk shared the post without comment, then deleted it after facing backlash from X users who said the post antisemitic and dismissive of genocide, the New York Times reported.

But the fact that Musk even shared this post apparently created more problems for Kardashian on Instagram. Among other things, Kardashian also was accused of being hypocritical because she has often tried to raise awareness about the genocide of the Armenian people during World War I. Through her father, Kardashian is the descendant of Armenian genociide survivors.

As the Daily Beast reported, Kardashian is no stranger to be being “out of touch.” But the timing of her Tesla product placement, with her magazine spread, is notable even for her — although it shouldn’t be that surprising. In December, Kardashian made a big show of giving her best friend Tracy Romulus a $100,000 Cybertruck for her birthday, as Page Six reported.

But even if Kardashian doesn’t care about the moral implications of touting Musk’s products, the influencer in her should at least be concerned about Tesla losing its cool factor. Since Trump took office, he’s allowed Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency to take over certain U.S. government operations — despite Musk not being elected or going through a Senate confirmation process.

Tesla owners are abandoning their vehicles in droves, and those who aren’t are going out of their way to stress that their ownership of a Tesla vehicle does not constitute an endorsement of Musk or Trump. That’s also the case in the Bay Area, where protesters have been holding regular demonstrations outside Tesla showrooms and the company’s stocks experienced a 50% dip from its all-time high last December.

Meanwhile, Kardashian isn’t getting as much sympathy as you would think in her latest battle with her even more polarizing, antisemitic ex-husband. The mother of four is understandably trying to stop West from releasing a new song that includes their daughter North, rapping alongside a man who appears to be accused sex trafficker Sean “Diddy” Combs, phoning from prison, according to the Daily Mail. Kardashian has threatened to go to court to stop release of the track, “Lonely Roads Lead to Sunshine,” insisting that she owns the trademark to their daughter’s name and public image.

But in referring to their daughter as a trademark, Kardashian shows that she views the 11-year-old and her other children as commodities, writes Daily Mail columnist Caroline Bullock. Kardashian also has built a $1.7 billion fortune through reality TV and being a social media influencer, both of which involve her regularly exposing her personal life and her family to the world.

“Don’t forget, this is a fame and fortune rooted in a scuzzy 2007 sex tape which help launch Kim and her talentless family with their tacky television series on which, over the years, nothing has been off limits,” Bullock wrote.

For a 2022 episode of The Kardashians, the influencer also was happy to exploit a painful incident involving her then-6-year-old son, Saint, coming across an advertising that referred to his mother’s notorious sex tape, Bullock also said.

“Yes, Kanye has become the ex from hell and this apparent Diddy sing-along with his daughter is every mother’s worst nightmare,” Bullock said. “Bbut Kim’s life-through-a-lens obsession is surely as much to blame.”
