The San Jose Fire Department put out a 45-acre fire near Communications Hill in San Jose on Wednesday evening, fire officials said.
The blaze was called into the fire department at 5:26 p.m., said Jake Pisani, public information officer for SJFD. Firefighters had the fire under control by 9:14 p.m.

More than 40 firefighters were on scene to mop up the blaze, SJPD said on social media.
No structures were destroyed in the fire, and there were no injuries, Pisani said. Fire crews stayed on scene until the fire was completely out.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, Pisani added.
