OAKLAND — An Alameda man has been charged with raping one woman and sexually assaulting two others in attacks that all occurred on the same day, according to court records.
Teddy Oliver, 22, was charged July 12 with kidnapping, assault with intent to commit a sex crime, forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual battery and second-degree robbery, all felonies. Oliver is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and is due next in court for a July 30 bail hearing.
Authorities allege that in the worst of the three alleged attacks, Oliver dragged a woman from an Alameda pedestrian walkway to a nearby grassy area, punched her several times, strangled her, raped her and told her that she would be “fine” and allowed to return home during the sexual assault. The woman reportedly told police Oliver claimed to have a gun but she didn’t see one, and that he took $600 from her purse.
Police say the woman told Oliver she was pregnant but he didn’t stop the sexual assault and continued to strike her face.
The sexual battery occurred 10 minutes earlier, near Encinal High School, police said. Investigators showed Oliver’s pictures to staff at the school and they recognized him from when he was a student there. When interviewed, Oliver acknowledged the sexual battery but denied the more serious charges, police said in court records.
Prosecutors have charged Oliver with assaulting a third woman that same day “with intent to commit rape, sodomy and oral copulation,” but police haven’t released details of that crime.
Oliver was arrested the same day as the attacks at his Alameda home, according to court records. He was released pending further investigation, then re-arrested on July 11, jail records show.
