Suspect tries to steal sleeping bag from Saratoga preschool

Attempted petty theft, under the influence of a controlled substance: At 4:33 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at the Saratoga French Cultural Preschool on Saratoga Avenue. An investigation revealed the suspect entered the campus and attempted to steal a sleeping bag, but the act was interrupted by an employee. The suspect, who displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance, was arrested and booked into main jail.

DUI, non-injury collision: At 7:34 p.m., deputies responded to a solo vehicle collision in the 21000 block of Mt. Eden Road where a motorist crashed into a tree. An investigation revealed the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was arrested and booked into main jail.
