Richard Simmons laid to rest at same L.A. cemetery as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin

The late fitness guru Richard Simmons was reportedly laid to rest in Los Angeles this week, though his cause of death has yet to be determined.

According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, Simmons was buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, a site that is also home to the graves of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Truman Capote, Natalie Wood and Don Knotts, among many others.

Simmons was pronounced dead last Saturday at his home in the Hollywood Hills, after a housekeeper found him unresponsive on the floor of his bedroom just before 10 a.m.

He had just celebrated his 76th birthday the previous day.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Simmons felt dizzy and took a fall in his bathroom Friday night, though it’s unclear what caused the dizziness or if the fall was directly connected to his death.

His housekeeper had reportedly tried to get Simmons to seek medical attention, but he refused as he was celebrating his birthday, telling her he might go to the doctor on Saturday instead.

Simmons’ cause and manner of death are still under investigation, and could take months to determine.

Authorities, however, have said they do not believe there was any foul play involved.
