A big rig overturned early Thursday on a freeway connector, causing havoc that lasted into the morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Nobody was reported to be injured in the crash, which happened on the northbound Interstate 238 connector to southbound Interstate 880 about 1:35 a.m.
The big rig contained oil and a mix of diesel fuel. The CHP said some of it spilled but that it was unknown how much or when it would be cleaned.
The CHP said the connector from I-238 to northbound I-880 is open.
A Sig-Alert for severe traffic remained in effect at 6 a.m.
